We made it to adulthood
seemingly unscathed
and completely unprepared.
We have no formal training on how to do this "the right way"
but, everyone says we are doing it wrong
and forget to school us on how they made it through-
perhaps because they actually haven't made it at all
and are too afraid that we would before them.
What a beautiful nightmare:
being an adult
doing it the wrong way
failing with at least a bit of grace on our side
knowing that our failure is a victory within itself
simply because we tried.
